Christian Dating Site ? Manna From Heaven

A Christian dating site is a great opportunity presented by the Internet to discerning Christians who want to date within the community. A Christian dating website offers matchmaking and dating services to singles of the Christian faith and ensures chances to meet more potential dates who share the same values and religious beliefs.

Religion plays a key role in any Christian person’s life and is pivotal to social and personal value systems. So dating someone from another religion may cause frictions. That is one of the biggest reasons Christian single people look for dates that are also Christians.

The ‘How-To’

Since the Internet is the easiest way to get a date these days, try a faith-based site. All kinds of sites exist but to find Christian matchmaking websites you will have to be more focused. Browse through several sites to find the one you like.

This will help your in two ways. One, you will select a website that most closely matches your needs, secondly since even a site for Christian matchmaking are divided by region and denomination, shopping around for the right website will refine your date hunt.

Once you have short-listed a few sites, get down to the brass tacks and do a quick search to see what kind of profiles are on offer on a particular site. Usually a website like this offers a safe dating environment so you don’t have to worry about meeting unruly characters. Do check out profiles to see if there is something interesting in there before offering your profile.

Should a paid membership be required (usually websites ask for mere donations for the upkeep of the website and no money for contacting a potential date), pay up because there are immense benefits to reap. That’s as simple as dating can get. Find more articles on dating for Christians in our websites archives. Also try Yahoo Personals to find the right person for you.

Jesus the pattern Son

Jesus the pattern Son

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin. He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper His hand (Isaiah 53:10, emphasis added).

In the beginning God purposed to bring many sons to glory and through sufferings perfect the Captain of their salvation. The vision of Christ was to see His seed. This was fulfilled on the cross. Without the cross there is no covenant and thus no fulfillment. For the joy that was set before Christ, He endured the cross, despised the shame, and purchased us for His own possession. By one offering He has perfected those who are being sanctified. We who were separated from Him in Adam were brought back. Now He will again be in us and we in Him as it was in the beginning. He in us refers to Christ being one Spirit with us and we in Him means that we are placed as members in His body. The vision of God and of Christ is our vision, which is to know Him as Father and to mature in Christ as His sons. It is to receive the testimony of sonship in which the Father is well pleased in us and we find our joy and fulfillment in Him.

Therefore the Lord Jesus is not ashamed to call us who are in Him, brethren. Through suffering on the cross the Lord Jesus Christ completed the work necessary for our salvation and sonship. He needs to do nothing more because everything is completed and finished in Him. We only need to rest in His salvation and to grow up like newborn babes, in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in maturity into the full measure of the stature of the Son of God. Our cry is to know God, as Father and God’s cry is to know us as His sons.

God has not subjected the inhabited world to come to angels but to the sons of man. For a while He made man little lower than the angels. He has crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of His hands and brought all things in subjection to him. He has left nothing that is not brought into subjection to man. Presently we do not see all things put under man (Hebrews 2:5-8). This was said about Jesus whose life is the prophecy of those who are in Christ. Although Christ has made this provision on the cross we know that since the transgression mankind has never moved in this level of authority.

Man has achieved much but has not come close to what God has in mind for him. Man can move down into the depth of the ocean with a submarine but outside the protection of that vehicle he will die. He can move into outer space to a planet but outside the sealed capsule around his body, he will die. These are achievements that belong to the natural realm that is far lower than the realm of Spirit, which belongs to the kingdom of heaven.

God never had a limited plan for us in mind but He saved us and placed us in His Son to be bodily filled with the fullness of the Godhead. Christ is the fullness of the Godhead bodily and we are to grow up in all aspects into Him. It means if Christ is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent we will be transformed into the same likeness. God who determined that all creatures would bring forth after its own kind call us His offspring. Therefore, as God is, so we will also be. It is also written, “I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High’” (Psalm 82:6). Jesus quoted this scripture, in John 10:34, to the Jews who accused Him being a man, making Himself God. So God is bringing forth after His own kind, He produces gods. It is not a picture of how important we are but of how much He loves us. For all eternity we will be in Christ and Christ will be in us so that the excellence of His power may always be made manifested in us who have believed. For all eternity the power and the glory and the wisdom will only belong to God and the Lamb so that no creature will glory in His sight. Although God has blessed us with His immeasurable glory in Christ Jesus all worship for all eternity will only belong to God and the Lamb (Revelation 19:10).

As God dwells in the supernatural realm of the Spirit He desires for us to live now in heaven where He is. He wants us to be with our bodies on earth but with our spirits in heaven. We need to be more at home in the Spirit (heaven) than in the flesh (earth). When we move in the revelatory gifts of the Holy Spirit, God shares with us some of His omniscience. The revelatory gifts of the Holy Spirit are prophecy, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discernment of spirits and the interpretation of tongues, dreams and visions. It is knowledge obtained through the Holy Spirit. So, it is knowledge received supernaturally that belongs to the realm of Spirit. It is a wonderful privilege to learn from books but to be taught by the Holy Spirit surpasses all instruction. To share some of God’s omniscience is just a foretaste of the fullness of what God has prepared for us. We have received the Holy Spirit in a measure, which is just a small deposit of what God has in mind for us. The end of it will be to be partakers of the fullness of His omniscience. Omniscience is to possess a complete knowledge, understanding and insight of all things and to have an infinite and eternal awareness of all things, in all realms and dimensions of eternity at the same time.

When we are dreaming spiritual dreams or seeing visions the Holy Spirit shares with us some of His omnipresence. Omnipresent is to be present at all places, in all time zones of eternity, in all realms and dimensions of the universe at the same time. So God is the One that fills all things and all places of all times of eternity with His presence at the same time. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold you are there (Psalm 138:7-8). When you see a prophetic vision concerning the future God is there to reveal His glory in the days of its fulfillment. God, through His Holy Spirit, enables you to witness future events, phenomena and marvels because He is there. In the natural some marvelous achievements were accomplished with life television broadcasting. For example millions of people over the Globe can simultaneously witness the Olympic games or the inauguration of a new president of the United States of America. They can even witness rebroadcasts of such an events and other historical events. The natural man can record the past and forecast the outcome of a future event but cannot guarantee the accuracy of its prediction. Neither can a person know the future by reasoning it out with his or her mind. This is also valid for all past events for which there are no recorded account or hard evidence. Man lives in the uncertainty of his own mind. Charles Darwin tried to understand the origin of creation with His fleshly mind. As he did not like to retain God in his knowledge, God gave him over to a debased mind being filled with deceit and being deceived he invented the evolution theory in his evil-mindedness. His theory asserts that widely divergent groups of plants and animals have arisen from common ancestors as a result of natural selection of offspring which develop slight variations that make them better adapt to their environment. Through that ridiculous explanation he led many people, open to his deception, astray. The Scriptures do not refer to plants and animals having common ancestors but stated emphatically that God created every living thing after its own kind. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good… And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (Genesis 1:12,25).

When we experience prophetic dreams and visions God share with us only a glimpse of His omnipresence. We have received the Spirit of God only in measure. Imagine what it will be when the fullness of God is poured out in us bodily. God’s desire for us is to have the fullness of Christ’s omnipresence.

When the power gifts of the Holy Spirit are manifested, God shares with us just a foretaste of His omnipotence. The power gifts of the Holy Spirit include the gift of faith, gifts of healing and the working of miracles. The omnipotence of God is a display of His infinite power and authority and excludes the workings of men. Marvelous achievements were obtained through science. Some monumental achievements include organ transplants in the medical field, space technology and electronic technology. These are nothing in comparison with the workings of the Spirit. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are just shadows of what God has prepared for us. To share some of God’s omnipotence in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, gives us an indication of what the fullness of God’s omnipotence would be. We have received the Holy Spirit only in measure. Imagine what it will be when we are immersed in the fullness of God. God has in mind for us to be partakers of the fullness of His omnipotence. Omnipotence is to possess unlimited power and authority over all realms and dimensions of the universe. We learned that God through His Son made the worlds and uphold all things by the word of His power. What a display of His power and authority. If He turns His face away from creation it will disintegrates.

The greatest ever display of His power and authority was made manifest in love. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that the earth through Him may be saved. About three o’clock the afternoon of the crucifixion the Lord Jesus Christ yielded up His Spirit and the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Immense pain flooded the being of the Holy Trinity as the Father and the Spirit for a moment in time forsook the Son. The Father was devastated and the Holy Spirit heartbroken, yet victorious. For a moment in time the Holy Trinity was not a trinity as the Son was forsaken. It happened when Jesus uttered in torment, “My Father, my Father why hast thou forsaken Me.” To ease the pain, They thought about us, the heirs of salvation. Forever the veil of partitioning was removed between God and His people. God through the Lord Jesus Christ has reconciled all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. From that time forward the heirs of salvation obtained the right, in Christ, to boldly draw near to the throne of grace through the blood of the Lamb into the presence of Almighty God. One song of worship expressing our love and gratitude to the Holy Trinity for what They have suffered on our behalf will be a greater work than the creation of another universe.

Jesus is the way to the Father. He said in His Father’s house is many spiritual places of existence. If it were not so He would have told us. He told us that He went away to prepare us a place of glory, power and authority that He might receive us unto Himself so that where He is we may be also. Where is Jesus? He is at the right hand of the Father. He is in our hearts, we are in Him and He is in the Father that we may be one. The universe is in Him for He is exalted above all things. He fills the universe; He fills eternity with all its realms and dimensions with all of His glory. This is the place where He is and where we already dwell by faith. Our spirits are alive to God because of righteousness but our bodies are still dead because of sin. You can perceive God and the rest of the spirit world through the Spirit. Because your body is dead to God you cannot enter the realm of Spirit with your body. You cannot hear God or see Him or touch Him with the body of flesh. For this reasons no flesh and blood shall enter into the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. But at the last trumpet, those who went before us, the dead in Christ, who were sowed in corruption, will be raised with an incorruptible body, and those who will be alive with their mortal bodies will be clothed with immortality. I believe this is the time when we will move into the full manifestation of the image of God where we will put on all the divine attributes of the Son, which include His omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience. All the hero’s of faith and the rest of the family of God that is captured in the cloud of witnesses has not received the fullness of this glory yet because it is written that they should not be made perfect apart from us. For if those in heaven has found this glory, the book of Hebrews would not have spoken of this perfection to be inherited. We who believe will enter into this glory at the last trumpet.

Many things must take place before this glorious day. Jesus is our vision and the pattern Son that have paved the way toward our sonship. To study the life of the pattern Son is to interpret the prophecy concerning our lives. Why? He is the first among many brethren and those to follow will follow along the same way. There are three major events in Jesus’ live that needs to be mentioned to follow the course of events that will follow our lives. These are His birth and maturing process, His baptism when the Father declared Him Son and His glorification on the cross.

Jesus’ natural birth placed Him in the kingdom of God for His own Spirit is the Spirit of Christ (Romans 8:9). Though Jesus is God He came into this world, as one of us, a mortal being yet without sin. Coming as a perfect man into the world He said He could do nothing of Himself but confessed His utter dependence on His Father. The Father who sent Him was in Him and He in the Father so that the excellence of the glory and power was from God in Him. Though Herod sought to destroy Him, He survived the onslaught on His life and then kept Himself busy with the things of God, His Father’s business. In this He grew up and become strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. He increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

The parallel to the birth of Jesus is to be born again. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Romans 8:9). If you are not born again you cannot see the kingdom of God. If you believe in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ, God will place you in the body of His Son and you will be delivered from your transgression and you will be justified in His sight. You will be joined to the Lord Jesus Christ and become one Spirit with Him. It is not a mixture of your spirit with His but you become one spirit with the Spirit of Christ, which means He is in you, one with you, and you are in Him, one with Christ in His body. A mixture of spirits would indicate a mixture of your glory (earthly glory of the flesh) with the glory of Jesus Christ (glory of the Spirit of God). God will not share His glory with anyone. One spirit with Him means there is only one glory, the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. God gave us only one glory, Christ in us the hope of glory. This glory is the image of His Son, the only image He gave us to grow into by faith.

Over a 30-year period Jesus was maturing into sonship by occupying Himself with His Father’s business according to the anointing that was working in Him. Then John baptized Him, the heavens were opened to Him, the Spirit of God descended like a dove and remained upon Him and the Father declared Him, His beloved Son. The Father also gave testimony that He was well pleased with His Son. Enoch received the same testimony of sonship that Jesus received. Before He was taken he had this testimony that he pleased God. The first 30 years of Jesus’ life show you the road to follow from being birthed by the Holy Spirit until you mature into sonship. One of the characteristics of sonship is the testimony from the Father that He is well pleased with His son. This means to walk with endurance with God.

Christ is the first born of many brethren to follow. Before the foundation of the world God predestined those whom He foreknew to be conformed to the image of His Son. Thus, God made Christ’s life the prophecy, pattern or blue print of the lives of the other brothers to follow. Like Him we are to be concerned about our Father’s business. Our Father’s business is the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God consists of our relationships toward God, our neighbors and toward all of the earth. Since born again believers are one Spirit with Christ they share His life and relationships with Him. Any ability other than Christ’s, which is the fountain of life and the source of light, is independence from Him and of necessity death and darkness. The ability of the flesh is of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and is death no matter how good or attractive its appearance. Sonship is the manifestation of the Son in the sons.

When the fullness of time came Jesus bought our perfection in Him with His own blood. When Jesus ascended on high He gave men gifts to equip them to grow up into a perfect man, the full image of Christ. Through the work of the cross Christ provided everything for us that pertain to life and godliness. We need not to revert to some formulae of legalism to attain to our own perfection. He has done it all for us. We only need to appropriate His provision through faith and rest in His victory to the glory of the Father. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons (Galatians 4-5). Spiritual growth is a natural process through faith by being obedient to the knowledge of the truth.

In the Near East, during biblical times, the word adoption had an entire different meaning than in our present Western civilization. The Western civilization perceives adoption as an orphan or a homeless child being adopted by foster parents. This is not the biblical meaning or the way the people in the Near East understood it. In Israel and in the Near East, adoption was a public ceremony where a young man who had proved his responsibility and faithfulness over time serving his father was proclaimed a son. The ceremony is called adoption.

At the ceremony of adoption, with friends, neighbors and relatives present, the father publicly proclaimed his matured boy his son. This proclamation gave the son certain privileges not enjoyed by him before this time. Firstly, the son was given power of attorney. He could buy or sell or do business in his father’s name. Secondly, he received his inheritance, and thus was able to use the wealth that his father had provided for him. It was his from then on and he did not need to ask any question about its distribution. Thirdly, the son was given equality with the father.

The adoption ceremony of the Lord Jesus took place when John baptized Him and the Father declared Him, His Son. Since the foundation of the earth God predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself. Because of Adam’s transgression all creation was subjected to futility, not willing, but by Him who subjects it in hope of being delivered from bondage of corruption into the same liberty of the sons of God. Presently our bodies are dead to God because of sin. Because of hope all creation groans and labors eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God together with us who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, which is the redemption of our bodies. If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us He who raised Christ from the dead will quickens our mortal bodies to God through His Spirit who dwells in us. Thus, the Spirit of God (the Father) brings redemption to our bodies, even the manifestation of our sonship. We are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God (the Father) dwells in us. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14, KJV).

When Jesus was born he was a mortal. When the Father declared Him, Son, He received the Spirit of God without measure and His mortal body put on immortality through the Spirit of His Father. He became the Christ or Messiah or Anointed One of God. Nobody took His life from Him. He had the power to lay it down and to take it up again because He was Son. Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father (John 10:17-18).

The Son of Man was glorified on the cross, which means He underwent death to the honor of God and in His resurrection He was adorn with luster, clothe with splendor and glory was poured into Him. He was full of majesty, made renowned, rendered illustrious and exalted to the highest rank, even the right hand of God. The Father has glorified Jesus with Himself, with the glory, which Jesus had with Him before the world was. The redeemed body and glorified body is not the same. Jesus the pattern Son is our prophecy. When Jesus was declared Son people recognized His appearance. When He was glorified Mary stood outside the tomb weeping did not recognize Jesus when He asked her why she was weeping and whom she was seeking because His glorified body took on a different shape. Once again He was omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. So shall we also be at the last trumpet.

To sum up, Jesus emptied Himself from the glory He had with the Father before the world was made and become one of us yet without sin. He matured in the grace of God. He was declared Son and did the will of God and accomplished His works. He was glorified on the cross and returned to the glory He had with the Father before the world was made. So there are three phases in the plan of God for us, namely our conversion and spiritual growth, sonship and final glorification at the last trumpet.

Those who wait for the rapture cannot ignore sonship, neither can those who believe in sonship ignore our final glorification with the glory the Lord Jesus had before the world was formed. The manifestation of the Lord Jesus in the flesh as the firstborn of many sons is the pattern of God’s plan or prophecy for our lives. To explain the vision of God’s plan for us in detail will necessitate an entire book on the subject, which I hope I will write shortly.

Alcoholic? God Has the Answer. Work the Christian 12 Steps, and Get Better

Problems of the flesh have worldly causes but spiritual solutions. Although we get ourselves into trouble with our drinking or drug taking behaviors, we too often cannot get ourselves out of these difficulties. Only through an understanding and admission of our spiritual conceit, and by turning our will and our hearts to the Lord for guidance, can we relearn what has always been needed for a good, honest and righteous life.

Jesus forgives us

Through thinking we are above the laws of God we spend too much time away from our families, and in places and with people where Jesus Christ, who walks with us always, should never be forced to endure. Yet even after we have subjected our Savior to our misdeeds our willfulness and our abandonment of His Message, He will always take us back in, show us the way forward, and give us the strength of a better life of sobriety; all we have to do is ask.

Although addiction comes from a worldly conceit, we can only better our abuses through turning our eyes upwards and seeking the guidance of Jesus Christ, and we do this best through prayer, through a study of the scriptures and through an honest, meditative and soul searching admission of our faults.

We cannot do it without His help, this much we have proven all too well, and we must open our hearts to his message and seek His will to direct our lives away from harmful drinking or drug taking, and back towards the bosom of the church, to family love and to a life of service for God, and by extension for self.

Ask for His guidance

You need no other person, no place, and even no Church to hear God’s message and feel his love, but because we value the fellowship of other Christians, appreciate the insights they can bring to our understanding of the Lord and the path we must walk for Him; we benefit greatly through a shared process of recovery within the fellowship of a Christian recovery organization.

Working the Christian 12 steps in group meetings or in a residential Christian rehab, we pray as individuals but also collectively, and feel God’s power as a group, asking His help in recovery from addiction and abuse. We study the bible together, learning the messages of the scripture as they pertain to the problems of the flesh, and we understand that Jesus Christ understands our weaknesses, forgives us for them, and has already given us a powerful book of recovery advice in the bible.

Because we are weak and we are flawed; we must admit to our shortcomings and plead with our God to remove these shortcomings so we can better serve Him in His purpose for us. But because we are imperfect, it can be very difficult to know how we can best live our lives for God. Working together with a Christian therapist, we dissect those feelings that lead us away from the teachings of the Lord, and talk about better ways to live our lives as God wishes. Although we pray for strength we also suffer temptation, and so we also discuss together how best to walk away from harmful behaviors, and into righteous acts.

Christians need a spiritual solution to problems of the flesh, and although we create the problems in our lives, only God can show us how to fix them. Listen to His word; He has the answers for your pain. If you need help with addiction, find a place offering the Christian 12 steps to recovery, and open your heart and mind to God’s will; and start getting better.

Christian Debt Counseling Can Provide Crucial Tips for Fund Management

Many religions preach about the evils of taking a debt and worse still about not giving back what you owe to another person. Christianity also has similar teachings mentioned in the bible. However, it may be difficult to avoid a situation where one needs to meet up a financial crunch and a debt may be the only solution available at that point of time. Modern times are also seeing the increased use of credit cards and various schemes which offer the convenience of buy-now-pay-later schemes. As a result more and more people are falling into the vicious cycle of the burden of debt and find it difficult to repay the huge loan amounts. It is at times like this that an organization such as the Christian debt relief group comes forward to help out a fellow Christian in trouble.

Christian debt counseling is based on the teachings and principles mentioned in the holy Bible. Practical solutions are given to the borrower to help him come to terms with his huge debt amount that are arrived at after consolidating all the debt amounts. The individual is given counseling regarding various means to better manage the finances in order to avoid such future circumstances. Also, in addition to counseling, the individual may be advanced a loan against the total amount of debt, to enable him to repay his debt. The Christian debt counseling organization might charge a very low rate of interest on this loan or at times, may even make it available, completely free of cost.

The inherent purpose of the Christian debt counseling is to guide people who have fallen under the burden of debt and make them self sufficient. It is done with the purpose of improving the moral fabric of the Christian society and help individuals become better human beings. This completely philanthropic intent makes this cause of debt counseling, a noble one indeed. However, like any other situation, it is advisable to carry out a little background research about this kind of an organization before trusting them blindly. It is for the own safekeeping of the individual so that he does not fall prey to any kind of fraud being perpetuated in the name of debt counseling. Like a popular saying goes, it is better to be safe than sorry and a little background check can do no harm.

When you happy you can do without people around you but in times of trouble you need a shoulder to cry on. The Christian debt counseling understands this need and stands by an individual during difficult times, offering wise counsel and financial support as well. This in turn encourages the person to rise above his troubles and unload his burden as soon as possible. It would also be a turning point in his life and you can be rest assured that he will not repeat a similar deed in the future. After such counseling, not only does he manage his finances better but also his life.

Does Jesus’ Baptism Condemn You?

Does baptism matter?  Most Americans have come to the conclusion that it does not, a person can be saved and go to heaven baptized or not.  It is such a settled conviction with most that they are not willing to give the study of the topic the time of day.  It is ridiculous to even consider it as they see it.  Only the spiritually blinded, only the cult faction, could think otherwise from their point of view.

It seems to me this is taking the same attitude the Pharisees took back in the first century.  They had their settled law and there was no point in thinking there was any possibility that they might be in error.  When Jesus came along and started questioning some of their beliefs and practices there was nothing to do but crucify him for there was no possibility in their mind that they could be wrong in their religion.  What he had to say had to be heresy.

A man ought to be cautious in reaching conclusions in spiritual matters for once this life is over and the next one has begun there is no going back a second time and getting it right.  There are no second chances and eternity is a long, long time.  I would like to look at baptism and want to start with an account that is often overlooked – the baptism of Jesus when John baptized him.

It is certainly true that the baptism of John differs from that which the Lord commanded in the great commission as given in Matthew 28 and Mark 16.  If I was to be baptized with the baptism of John today it would not do me an ounce of good for its time has long since come and gone.  Nevertheless, that was not the case when Jesus came to John to be baptized approximately 2,000 years ago.

Mark tells us (Mark 1:4 NKJV), “John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”  We know that Jesus never sinned and when Jesus comes to John to be baptized John is hesitant.  In Matthew 3:14 we are told that, “John tried to prevent Him, saying, ‘I have need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?’”

Now note carefully how Jesus responds.  “But Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’  Then he allowed Him.”  (Matt. 3:15 NKJV)

Why was Jesus baptized?  To fulfill all righteousness for that is what he says.  What did he mean by that?  The answer is found in Psalms 119:172, “My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness.”  Jesus was baptized because it was the righteous thing to do for God had commanded it and all of God’s commandments are righteousness.

In Matt. 21 Jesus is being confronted by the chief priests and the elders who want to know by what authority he is doing the things he is doing.  The Bible says, (Matt. 21:24-26 NKJV), “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things:  The baptism of John, where was it from?  From heaven or from men?’  And they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us ‘Why then did you not believe him?’  ‘But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all count John as a prophet.’”

Jesus is saying John’s baptism has to be either from God or from man, which was it?  Jesus believed (knew) it was from God and was baptized.  The Pharisees did not believe it was from God and thus were not baptized.  In Jesus’ case belief led to obedience, in the Pharisee’s case disbelief led to disobedience.

In Luke 7 Jesus has been talking about John the Baptist and the Bible says, beginning in verse 29, “And when all the people heard Him (Jesus – DS), even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John.  But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.” (NKJV)  This provides further proof that John’s baptism was from or of God.

The counsel of God was that men receive John’s message and be baptized.  John’s message was that men repent and be baptized, a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

The Good News Bible translates Mark 1:4 as follows:  “So John appeared in the desert, baptizing and preaching. ‘Turn away from your sins and be baptized,’ he told the people, ‘and God will forgive your sins.’”  This was the message of God for the people that was rejected by the Pharisees, lawyers, chief priests, and elders.

But, the Bible says “even the tax collectors justified God, have been baptized with the baptism of John.” (Luke 7:29 NKJV)  What does it mean “justified God”, how is that done?  The New American Standard translation of this verse clarifies it a lot.  It reads, “And when all the people and the tax-gatherers heard this, they acknowledged God’s justice, having been baptized with the baptism of John.”

Part of John’s message was that there was to be wrath to come and the way of escape was to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.  When men obeyed John’s preaching  they were in affect saying by their actions that  God was just in bringing this wrath upon them unless they did repent and obey and that it was just of him to demand their repentance and baptism.

Now what does all of this have to do with you and me today, with men and women in general?  There is a direct application and an argument I think no one can reject save at their own peril.

Jesus asked the question where did John’s baptism come from, from God or man.  Here is the question for you and me today, where did the baptism Jesus commanded come from, from God or man?

Why would it be wrong to reject John’s baptism in its time but right to reject Jesus’ baptism in our time?  Jesus made it clear that to reject John’s baptism in its time was to reject the counsel of God against themselves.  Are we not doing the same thing today, rejecting God’s counsel against ourselves, when we refuse to be baptized with Jesus’ baptism, the baptism of the great commission.  If not why not?

One cannot reason his way out of this dilemma but it gets even worse for those who want to reject baptism.  Please note it was a salvation issue with Jesus concerning John’s baptism.  Are you going to say it is not a salvation issue today with Jesus’ baptism?

How much difference is there in the meaning of the words, “a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins” (Mark 1:4 NKJV) spoken concerning John’s baptism and the words “repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38 NKJV) spoken concerning the baptism Jesus requires in our own time?  The words sound very similar to me.

Am I saying that both baptisms were identical?  No, but the difference lay not in the end to be achieved.  John’s baptism ultimately would have done no good had Jesus not died on the cross.  In that sense it looked forward and was a promise.  We have this in our everyday lives all of the time.  If I do this then I am promised that even though that may be down the road a ways.  Paychecks are like that.  We work trusting by faith the promise that we will be paid.  This was John’s baptism.

Does this mean their actual forgiveness lay down the road somewhere in the future and was not immediate?  No, for it was a certainty, not just a promise, that Jesus would die on the cross.  The deed was as good as done the day it was first prophesied.  When Moses and Elijah met Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration Jesus had not yet died on the cross.  Was their salvation hanging in the balance until he did die?  To ask is to answer.  So it was with those who obeyed John’s teaching.  Their sins were forgiven then and there or else John misled them for he said it was for the forgiveness of sins.

The baptism Jesus gave man by way of the great commission was based on the fact that Jesus had already died and shed his blood for the remission of sins and the salvation of man.  Man has to believe the gospel, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:1-4).  In short, for a man to receive the baptism of Jesus he must believe in the historical Jesus, the Savior of the world.

If a man today refuses to obey the command to be baptized he refuses to do what Jesus said he was doing when he said, “it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”  (Matt. 3:15 NKJV)  It has already been pointed out that all God’s commands are righteousness (Psalms 119:172).  If we have a command to be baptized today, as far as I know all agree we do, should we not obey it and fulfill all righteousness?  Why is it wrong to follow Jesus’ example?

Does Jesus’ baptism condemn you?  It well could for when all is said and done you will either make camp with the Pharisees and other unbelievers who could not take God’s word at face value, believe and obey it, or you will camp with those who did believe and did obey.  You will either reject the counsel of God against yourself refusing to be baptized or else you will accept it, believe and obey it.  Make no mistake about it, for there are way too many passages that teach it, God has commanded baptism for you and me today thus it becomes a matter of either we will or we won’t.  We will either accept his counsel or we will reject it.

I am sometimes taken aback by how people can just blow off baptism as being an insignificant thing unworthy of time or trouble.  It is a reflection on God.  Really is that not what Jesus was saying way back when – you don’t believe God?  So many want to be saved by faith today apart from baptism and cannot see, as though blinded, that baptism is a part of faith, a part of the faith that saves.  You are either going to believe God or you are not going to believe him when he speaks of baptism in his word.  Why is it we can see this when Jesus addresses the subject of John’s baptism but cannot see the direct application to our own response in our time to Jesus’ baptism?

I doubt any of us can fully grasp the power that tradition exerts on us when it comes to how we see things and how we think.  Add to that the influence of friends and family and the desire for it to be the way we want it to be often because of family.  All that be as it may God’s word stands and so what are we going to do about it becomes the question.  Many have answered “I am not going to believe it” as did the Pharisees.  They did not believe it because they did not want to believe it.  We pretty much end up believing what we want to believe instead of what we ought to believe.

I close this now just adding one final thought.  The decision is yours.

Jesus Is Not A Friend Of Sinners But He Is Compassionate With Them!

Jesus was no sinner, nor a friend of sinners. He was kind and compassionate on sinners, and never committed sin in His dealings with sinners for He “did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:22; Isaiah 53:9). His communication with sinners was pure and never encouraged them in sin.

Example when we see a stranger  who is in trouble we try to help them , that doesnt mean that we were friends with him , it means we were compassionate to help him.

We also know that Jesus hates wickedness in Hebrews 1:9:You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” His heart is grieved over those who sin and Jesus hates the sin within each one of us. Jesus hated sin so much that He went to the cross to do away with sin. Jesus doesn’t want to leave us living in our sins but He came to die for our sins and to empower us through the Spirit to overcome sin.

Compassion does not equal tolerance or friendship especially where sin is concerned. As for being found in the company of sinners, Jesus also gave His reason for that: Sick people need a physician. He ate with sinners, not to approve their lifestyle, but to call them to repentance (Lk. 5:29-32).

We mustn’t make excuses for our sins nor should we hide our sins (Psalm 32:5) but we should confess our sins to the Father (1 John 1:9) and remain in faith in Jesus who alone can wash our sins away.

I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:7)

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. (Luke 15:10)

I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. (Luke 5:32)

Friends are those you are in harmony with, have partnership with, have agreement with, have things in common with. Everything which 2 Cor 6:14-18 states. Only after the sinner repents of sin in response to the mercy of God can such characteristics of friendship as these be possible. Truth is primarily learned by contrasts and James 4:4 contrasting friends and enemies of God is clear. Lastly, the only two men attested as friends of God in the Bible were Moses and Abraham.

The Scripture bears out many facts that GOD does NOT walk around with a perpetual smile on all people, here are a few of those verses:

Psalms 5:5:…Thou dost HATE ALL who do iniquity.

Rom 2:5-6:5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who will render to every man according to his deeds

Matt 13:41-42:41 “The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus came as the great Physician. We still need to bring ourselves humbly, repentantly before Him, as well as bringing those we know to Him. Jesus said “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”

In (Luke 19:1-10) Many of us remember the story of the diminutive Zaccheus, who had to climb a tree in order to see Christ: Zaccheus is a tax-gatherer. Zaccheus is considered by all in his city to be a sinner. remarkable change had begun to take place in the heart of Zaccheus?

And he hurried and came down, and received Him gladly … And Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.”

Zaccheus was repentant! Christ was honoring the repentance of Zaccheus with His presence as a houseguest in Zaccheus’ home.

However, the unrepentant citizens of Jericho were unwilling to recognize the evidence of Zaccheus’ repentant change. They regarded him as a “sinner,” focusing only upon the apparent sins of his past.

Let’s first look at a time when Jesus describes the friendship ..
John 15:14-15: You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Here we see Jesus saying, “those of you who love and live in sin, you’re my friend. Disobedience toward Christ is not friendship with Him. He shares His life with His obedient friends. There are lots of people who justify their sins point out that, “Jesus ate with tax–gatherers and sinners.” Their reasoning is simple, “because Jesus did these things then we can too.” It is true that the Scriptures teach that Jesus ate with tax–gatherers and sinners (Mt. 9:11; 11:19; Mk. 2:16; Lk. 5:30; 7:34; 15:2). Yet, he did so in order to preach the gospel to them, to call them to repentance and not to participate in their evil deeds of darkness. When the Pharisees asked why Jesus ate with godless sinners, Jesus said in Lk. 5:31-32 “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus hated sin and he hated worldliness. He put up with the sinfulness of men in order to call sinners to repentance. We can even cultivate relationships with the godless for the purpose of calling sinners to repentance and evangelizing them, but never to enjoy their sin or sinful life style. Paul said this to the Ephesians in Eph. 5:3-8, II Cor. 6:14-17, I Cor. 15:33-34, II Tim. 2:16-18.

These people, not knowing God, being children of Satan, do not respect the morals of God, and hence they use words of vanity, they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, by promising them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. Then Peter explains that the very ones who promise freedom and “Christian liberty” are already overcome by sin and enslaved to it.

John 15:14: “You are My friends, if you do what I command you.

Here we see that sinners do not do what Jesus Christ commands , they by nature practice sin and are disobedient.

1 John 3:4: Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

There are many people who twist the words of God and make Jesus to be a “friend of sinners” and claim innocence before Christ.

Let us see Luke 7:33-35:33 “For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ 34 “The Son of Man has come eating and drinking; and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners!’ 35 “Yet wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”

It is clear that there are four accusations hurled out our Saviour and His servant, John the Baptist, in this passage…

John the Baptist “has a Demon”

Jesus was a “Gluttonous Man”

Jesus was a “Drunkard”

Jesus was a “Friend of tax-gatherers and sinners”

How any man can reason that the accusations are true. To take just one out of the four accusations AGAINST Christ and claim that it is true, is twisting scripture, taking it out of context, but men with smooth words deceive multitudes by doing this very thing.

You see, if we say Jesus was a “friend of sinners” then we conclude that the accusations are true, and then He also is a drunkard and a gluttonous man, as well as John the baptist had a demon (God forbid). Certainly none of those things are true, so we can conclude that Jesus was NOT a friend of sinners, as well as He was NOT a drunkard, or a gluttonous man, nor did John have a demon.

Look at another verse Hebrews 7:26 that He was mentioned as “seperated from sinners.

Heb 7:26: For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens;

Let us look at Luke 15:1-2: Now all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”

here in this verse we see again that the words are an accusation of a pharsee.

God does recognize repentance. “But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die. All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.

“Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord GOD, “rather than that he should turn from his ways and live? But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, will he live? All his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered for his treachery which he has committed and his sin which he has committed; for them he will die.

“Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ Hear now, O house of Israel! Is My way not right? Is it not your ways that are not right?

“When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies because of it, for his iniquity which he has committed he will die.

“Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and practices justice and righteousness, he will save his life. Because he considered and turned away from all his transgressions which he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

“But the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ Are My ways not right, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not right? Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord GOD. “Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you. Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord GOD. “Therefore, repent and live.” (Ezekiel 18:20-32)

In all the parables where Jesus was a friend of sinners demonstrates that” Again, it is Jesus Christ emphasizing God’s great, merciful, and loving regard for the repentance of those who sin.

Let’s go on to examine some occasions where it is recorded that Christ did eat with unrepentant men – although it is evident that they were men who imagined themselves to be righteous!

We are not to socialize at all with people who, having become part of God’s Church, are practicing sin. Jesus was compassionate for sinners because Christ came into the world to save sinners. He didn’t come to make sinners feel good about themselves.

Some people attempt to justify their wrongdoing by saying, for example, that Jesus refused to condemn the woman caught in adultery and that He spent much of His time eating and drinking with sinners.

Jesus’ words to the adulterous woman, “Neither do I condemn you” (Jn. 8:11), are filled with forgiveness, not tolerance. She knew her own sin, and He knew that she did, whereas the would-be stone-throwers weren’t reflecting upon theirs. So Jesus had to deal with them first. But after He forgave the woman, notice that Jesus did not say, “Go, follow your feelings, celebrate diversity, and try not to hurt anyone.” He said, “Go, and sin no more.” To the paralytic, He added a further warning: “Sin no more, lest something worse befall you” (Jn. 5:14). That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.2 Corinthians 5:19

God hates everyone who doesn’t put Him first.” God is not angry merely against the sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself.Eg when you say God hates the theft, but loves the thief. He abhors adultery, but is pleased with the adulterer. This will not make any sense. The sin has no moral character apart from the sinner. we also know that God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” (Psa 7:11)

Proverbs 30:12 there is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

God hates sinners so much that “for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Whosoever is born of God will not commit sin. And saints are made free from sin to become the servants of righteousness. The word of God, prayers keeps away from sins and also we need to keep as far away as possible from sinful places and sinful people who corrupt good morals.

1 John 3:9 whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

When God says he hate sinners it does not mean that he will tolerate the sinners or the sinners go unpunished. Love for sinners is not reason to keep quiet about sin. The Bible says that Sin should always be confessed ,mourned over, hated, departed from, Avoided even in appearance from all forms, shoulded be guarded, to be prayed to keep away and delivered from sins, to ask God to cleanse our sins with the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Christ not only pardons repentant sinners, but He restores in them the image of God.

God loves the sinner when the sinner is purged from his sinful nature. God will receive any repent sinner that comes through Jesus Christ. A true love for sinner is by speaking the truth in love, correcting him, rebuking his sin and not allowing a person to live in sin or continuing his sinful lifestyle. The godly sorrow we feel should cause us to change our minds about the way we have acted and lived in the past. Our sorrow should make us decide to quit doing what is wrong and start doing what is right. This is repentance.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:6-8 for when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

The wicked people encourage themselves in sin and also Delight in those who commit sins. They also have numerous unbiblical excuses to commit sin and to defend their sinful ways. When you question them they mock and boast about their sins also they try to tempt others and they either blame God others for their sinful natures. They have become spiritual Blinded which is caused due to the effect of sin, a work of the devil and Leads to all evil. When God’s people do not obey Him, He allows a spirit of blindness to come over them.

Psalms 64:5 they encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

Isaiah 3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

Proverbs 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Psalms 10:11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

2 Peter 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

Proverbs 10:16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

We also know that True Love for God is to hate evil.
People who know God’s will and who love righteousness will hate sin and evil.

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 97:10

Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5:15

To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Proverbs 8:13

We need remove our self with people who constantly sin who encourages us to sin and who refuse to repent and whose lifestyle reflect their rebellious ways. We need to be very careful to whom we make friends.

The righteous should CHOOSE HIS FRIENDS CAREFULLY, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.” (Proverbs 12:26)

The Bible says that evil company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).

God has called us to walk godly and keep away from sin. A Godly friend will lead you to God, Church, Godliness, Holiness and truth.

we can not be everyone’s friend. God’s word says – evil friends, ungodly friends will corrupt you.
Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their ways; they have made themselves crooked paths; whoever takes that way shall not know peace” (Isaiah 59:7,8).

“There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; and their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble” (Proverbs 4:11-19).

You cannot be friends with the world and God. If we have friendship with worldly friends they will encourage us to live in world ways and encourages us to sin and will keep us from hearing Gods Word. Gods word and Godly ways are nonsense to them ultimately we will loose Gods kingdom and our end will end in hell.

James 4: Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

We can identify wrong friends in our life by their fruits. The bad friends are are filled with anger and bitterness whose who lifestyle, goals, teachings, morals conflict with Gods word, who offers wrong advises with wrong motives, who gossips, who is their only in Good times and runs when you fall.

Every sin has its own consequences and demands heavy price. The final result of sin is death and destruction. “The wages of sin. is death” (Rom. 6:23).some of the examples are:

1)Ham & Noah (Genesis 9:20-27) involved in looking at naked body Hence Ham’s son Canaan and his descendants are cursed (future Canaanites)

2)Angels taking human wives (Genesis 6:1-12, Jude 6-7, 2 Peter 2:4) which was Indulged in gross sexual immorality with “strange flesh” and as as result Earth was corrupt and full of violence God determined to destroy humanity by a flood .

3)Sodom & Gomorrah (Jude 6-7, Genesis 18:16-33, Genesis 19:1-29, Ezekiel 16:48-50)was involved in Homosexuality ,Pride ,Gluttony which resulted in Both cities and the surrounding territory were destroyed by God.

4)Lot & his daughters involved in Incest (Genesis 19:30-38) because his Daughters did not have faith that God would provide for them which resulted The descendants (Ammonites and Moabites) became hated enemies of God’s people.

Gods word say that”I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people– not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you” (1 Corinthians 5:9-13).

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife. And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? … When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 5:1-5)

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 3 John 1:11

It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 1 Peter 3:17
